Disney released a new set of "Limited Time" events for 2013, where guests can experience special themed weeks at different times of the year. These events will take place at both the Walt Disney World resort and the Disneyland resort.
The company hasn't said specifically each event will be, but they have hinted at the times they will be held. For example, a week in February is designated for the celebration of Valentine's Day. Additionally, the week of July 4th will be a week of Independence Day celebrations. Other examples can be found here.
Disney hasn't released any more information on the week-by-week programs, but we expect more information to come out soon.
In my opinion, I would love to see a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed week. They could have pirate parades, maybe a few activities for families around the parks, and a lot appearances by Captain Jack Sparrow and Angelica. Maybe even show a sneak-peek of the brand new Pirates of the Caribbean movie that is currently being filmed!
Is there a specific theme that you would like to see in the parks?
This is awesome! Disney World will never get old to me nor will I ever outgrow it. I went for my senior trip and it was a blast. I think this idea will draw a lot of people to the parks because it is something they've never done before. Reading the ideas so far, I think the villan one sound cool because you never really interact with them. I also like the old friends idea because they are all such minuscule characters but ones we love nonetheless. If I had to think of my own idea I would want a water park themed week. For example, in Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon all the water based characters could show up like the alligator from Peter Pan. What was your favorite idea or can you think of a better one?
ReplyDeleteI apologize for this response being so late. I never got the notification!
DeleteI completely agree with you. I will never get tired of Disney! It always seems to be changing.
I love that water park idea! I don't think that most people even know about the water parks because they're overshadowed by the larger theme parks.
If I had to pick anything, I would love a week themed all around Pixar's new movie Brave (I may be biased because I'm told I look like the main character Merida all the time). Even a Pixar-themed week would be incredible! They already do a Pixar-themed parade at Hollywood Studios, but I think they could expand on that.
Thanks for the comment, Diana!
With their recent purchase of the Star Wars franchise, it would be pretty awesome to see them have some Star Wars-themed attractions. Could bring in a crowd that wouldn't normally consider Disney World for their vacations!
ReplyDeleteI agree! That's a great idea! Disney should definitely take that into consideration. Thanks for the comment, Jeremy!
DeleteOk, first of all, I love that you pose questions at the end of your posts. I feel like it really inspires the reader to leave a response. And I just love your blog in general. Who doesn't love Disney World?
ReplyDeleteI, personally, agree with Jeremy. It's been a huge deal this year that Disney bought the rights to Star Wars & I think it would be awesome to incorporate that into the park somehow. It would help bring both Disney lovers & Star Wars fans together!
I agree! It's pretty hard not to love Disney.
DeleteI did a little bit of research into it and Disney already does Star Wars Weekends in June and July. But I think it would be great to just make one big week of it all at once!
Thanks for reading and commenting, Lauren!
